Australians, New Zealanders, and Taiwan.

The Australia New Zealand Chamber of Commerce in Taiwan is a non-profit, non-governmental, member-based organisation that represents Australian and New Zealand businesses in Taiwan.

History

Formed in 1991

The Australia and New Zealand Business Association was formed in 1991 to represent Australians and New Zealanders doing business in Taiwan, and to complement other organisations promoting trade, investment, and general relations among the three nations.

What it does

Advocacy, business, community

A

Advocacy and representation

Advocating on behalf of our members, the Chamber works closely with Taiwan’s National Development Council, Ministry of Economic Affairs, and other agencies through our White Paper to improve Taiwan’s business environment, highlight areas of collaboration, and champion for greater economic cooperation between Australia, New Zealand, and Taiwan. Members have the opportunity to contribute inputs through the White Paper Committee or one of the industry committees.

B

Business development and insight

The Chamber offers valuable networking, exchange of ideas, and sharing of knowledge through our 25+ events per year, providing you a network and access to the collective knowledge of our members. Members can join content driven business luncheons and forums with industry experts, key policymakers and influential thought leaders on the issues shaping trade and investment.

C

Community and social events

We organise some of the most sought after social events in Taiwan’s expatriate community, as well as a regular happy hour for the international business community to build business and social connections. These events also showcase the culture, the lifestyle, and some of the best wine and agricultural produce from Down Under.

The White Paper

One document a year, and a route to three governments.

The ANZCham White Paper is the Chamber’s annual advocacy document, written to champion greater economic cooperation between Australia, New Zealand and Taiwan and to highlight areas for improvement and collaboration.

It also serves as a framework to facilitate direct communication between our members and the policymakers in Taipei, Canberra, and Wellington.

Members contribute the issues through the White Paper Committee or one of the industry committees. The finished document is handed over at a launch luncheon, and the 2025 edition was presented to the Chairperson of Taiwan’s National Development Council.

The document was called a Discussion Paper until 2024 and this record uses the chamber’s name for each edition. The current edition is published in English and in Chinese.
