Committees

Four committees, and the work goes upward.

Members join a committee, the committee raises the issue, and the issue reaches the government through the annual White Paper. That is the whole route, and it is short.

The four

What each one is for

White Paper Committee

Vincent Chang, Chairman

The committee that produces the Chamber’s annual advocacy document. Members contribute the issues, and the finished paper goes to Taiwan’s National Development Council, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and other agencies.

Energy Committee

Jeffrey Chen and Murray Bowler

The committee aims to link Taiwan, Australia and New Zealand energy stakeholders in order to assist Taiwan reach its energy goals, and addresses any topics and issues that members may have in relation to energy in Taiwan.

It runs business luncheons on energy topics with government representatives, industry experts and potential partners, and it contributes the energy chapter of the White Paper.

Business Committee

Sabri Gmira and Gordon Lee

The committee behind the content driven side of the programme: business luncheons and forums with industry experts, policymakers and thought leaders on the issues shaping trade and investment.

Social Committee

Deana Lam

The committee behind the events the Chamber is best known for. Its programme is the reason the Chamber is often said to be Taiwan’s friendliest.

Chairs are set by the 2026 board. The Energy Committee and the White Paper Committee also keep more detail on their own programmes.

Energy

What the Energy Committee can do for a member

The committee aims to link Taiwan, Australia and New Zealand energy stakeholders in order to assist Taiwan reach its energy goals.

Network

A first point of contact for access to the relevant stakeholders in the energy market in Taiwan.

Informational events

Business luncheons and the regular Sundowners after work networking, on the latest development of the energy market in Taiwan.

Advocacy

The committee submits topics for consideration and discussion with Taiwan government counterparts as part of the Chamber’s White Paper.

Young Professionals

Young Professionals and Alumni

A series combining workshops and networking tailored to young professionals and alumni, giving them a platform to develop their skills, share information and expand their network. The events are aimed at people under 35 who studied, worked or lived in Australia or New Zealand, and anyone interested is welcome.

If you used to study, work or live in Australia or New Zealand, the Chamber would like to hear from you.

The chamber runs the programme as a series of workshops and networking evenings through the year. Dates go up on its own events page.

Take part

Members contribute the issues.

Members have the opportunity to contribute inputs to the White Paper through the White Paper Committee or one of the industry committees. The office can put you in touch with a chair.
